NSFAS Fund

For underprivileged South African students wishing to attend a public university or TVET college, the government offers the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).

Fifty TVET colleges and 26 universities get funds from NSFAS.

Criteria for NSFAS Funding in South Africa

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be qualify for funding;

  • Be a South African citizens
  • Be SASSA grant recipients qualifies
  • Applicants combined household income should be less than R350 000/annum
  • Person with disability: Combined household income must be less than R600 000/annum
  • Students who started studying before 2018 whose household income is less than R122 000 per annum.

Application Process for NSFAS Funding

Follow the below process to appliy for funding from NSFAS:
Visit to www.nsfas.org.za and click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab.
Create a myNSFAS account.
Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab and complete the sections on the screen.
Upload required supporting documents where applicable.
Click on ‘Submit’
